Hello everyone. It's been a month since my last upload, and I apologize for that.
To be honest, I was having a very hard time in march, because I couldn't finish any of my planned projects.
I started a lot projects including piano arrangements from Clannad After Story, Air and Kanon (2006) but none of them has been finished, because... I just don't know. I was in a blockade.
And even before I knew, the month has ended, and I didn't achieve anything.
I was very depressed after I realized that I effectively wasted a whole month and I began to seclude myself.
After I dropped all my planned projects for march, I started to play the Kancolle browser game, and slowly became addicted to it. Days after days, I was just sitting in front of my computer and level-grinding my ships in Kancolle, and I haven't touched the piano for almost a week.
Ten days ago, I posted my current mental status on social media and announced my semi-retirement. But the amount of feedback was really amazing. So many people have been supporting me over the years, and I didn't realize that my piano covers could reach the hearts of so many people. I really wanted to thank these people by uploading something special, but... I still didn't have any idea what project I should start.
And then, the soundtrack of the Kancolle anime has been released - and my face immediately lit up: The soundtrack was simply gorgeous! The incredible majestic "Sortie!" theme and the slow string instrument pieces with a heartbreaking melody - suddenly my mind was exploding with ideas again.
Therefore I decided to do another soundtrack piano medley, similar as I did with the Magica Madoka medley, and began to work on the sheet every day. After spending more than 40 hours on the sheet, I was finally done - and I was relieved. Really really relieved. Because I have finally found my inspiration again.
This piano medley also partially reflects my struggle in the past few weeks: It begins with a very dark funeral march in g#-minor - similar to my depressed condition - but after days of struggling and contemplation, I finally overcame my depression and therefore, the piece also ends in a triumphant F-major finale.
I couldn't have done this without your support everyone, therefore:
Thank you!
I also just reached incredible 300.000 subscribers! It's still unbelievable to see how big my channel has grew since I started it in 2009.
Well then, I hope that my passion for the piano will never fade, so I can continue doing the thing I like the most: Creating anime piano arrangements!
I hope I can see you again in the upcoming anime season!
Until then~
Animenz
