The Asus ROG Ally is the latest handheld gaming console of 2023, following the Ayaneo 2, OneXPlayer 2 and last year's Steam Deck. Ahead of my unboxing and review, here's an Asus ROG Ally preview featuring all of the main specs, features and best bits. Are you tempted to bin your other consoles and give this a go? Let us know your thoughts on the ROG Ally below!
Like the Ayaneo 2 and other greatest handhelds, Asus' gamer serves up beefy AMD performance as well as a Full HD display. However, the ROG Ally may have an advantage over rivals with its custom Ryzen Z1 chipset, 120Hz IPS screen and that Armoury Crate software. This sits on top of Windows 11 and allows gaming fans to jump into Steam, Game Pass, Epic Games etc titles instantly.
You also have a stereo speaker setup with Dolby Atmos support, so the audio/visuals should be among the best for 2023. The Asus ROG Ally offers a dual fan cooling system, 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD, WiFi 6e and plenty of premium specs.
The UK price and release date for this handheld gaming console should be revealed on May 11, the official launch day. Will it prove better value than the Steam Deck and other Windows rivals like the Ayaneo 2? Check back for my full unboxing and review of the ROG Ally!
