This happened to me a few weeks ago when I wanted to remove my AMD Ryzen 5 3600 from my gaming rig to use on my other rig and to my horror the CPU cooler dragged my CPU out of the socket.
Problem was that the CPU cooler was designed in such a way that it is still clipped on the other side while fans (yes I forgot) were still in tact. It wouldn't make any difference even if the fans weren't connected, either way the spring reaction from the mount itself is scary.
I hope this sharing is useful, try to avoid coolers with this kind of mount if you're using an AMD CPU.
